Established in 2006 by Creative Director, Gavin Jones who chose
the name, as 1977 was a good year. Not only was Star Wars
released, but Gavin also went from idea conception to delivery!
 
With over 14 years experience within graphic design,
SeventySeven Creative Design was launched with the aim ‘to
design better’. Our ethos is to work closer with business owners to

I knew what I wanted to do from an early age of 13 -
Graphic Design.
After successful GCSE's and A Levels I went to West Suffolk
College and gained a HND Foundation in Art and Design
specialising in Graphic Design.
From here I won a place at the prestigious Norwich School of
Art and Design. After two years of study I graduated in 1999 with
a HND in Graphic Design and offered a place on the last year of
the Degree Course. This is something that only one person out in forty achieves - with the added bonus of working with one of the
best creative minds around. Ray Gregory. I seized the opportunity and graduated in July 2000.
My first job was in the Bury Free Press Art Studio working on the
bigger adverts such as SAAB, FORD, DFS and many other
national companies hitting five deadlines a week as the papers
went off to press. After 9 months I moved to an agency called
'The Finishing Post‚' where I worked with one of the best teams
I have ever experienced. I worked on fantastic jobs for
prestigious clients such as Volvo Construction Equipment,
Cadburys, Greene King, Dalgety, Geest, Danepak, and Crayola.
It was here that I met my mentor - he taught me everything that I
know. Specialising in Photoshop work and typography, I felt that
they worked well to partner with my creative ideas. After nearly 4
years I decided to move on and take my knowledge and look to
further it more in another sector of Graphic Design ‚- exhibition
and tradeshow design.
   
I worked at ‘Giant Marcoms’ for another three years learning
more about large format and exhibition design. I helped make
the design side of the business a success – I then decided it was time to set my own company up.
I set up SeventySeven Creative Design with the aim
“to design better”. I wanted to provide a personal touch to
graphic design, something which the larger agencies don’t do. Generally, with agencies, an account manager liaises with the
customer, not the designers themselves. I prefer to talk direct
to the customer, understand their needs and work with them - it
gets better results.
I work with all types of industries - from start-ups, small and
medium sized business right through to the Blue Chip
companies. Each customer, large or small, gets the same high
level of customer service and personal attention to detail. That's
the way it should be. I also wanted to provide London quality and
creativity with Cambridgeshire prices.
